ARSENAL GAME MIGHT BE CANCELLED

Arsenal could be forced to postpone the fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the Boxing Day because of the proposed tube strike in London.

The tube strike is not only threatening to postpone the Arsenal match, but also the fixture between Chelsea and Fulham as well. Further, the tube strike is expected to spread its havoc down in the lower leagues as well, with features like the match between Cardiff city and Watford, Portsmouth and Millwall under threat. Arsenal said in their official website that they will be looking at the situation closely and will be informing the fans regarding the postponement if any.

This comes as a major blow to Arsene Wenger's plans to keep up with the leading pack of Manchester City and Manchester United.

After the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday, Arsenal are a massive 12 points behind Manchester City. Further, Manchester City are not the only team in the title race, as Manchester United are closely behind them as well. So, as will effectively need to teams to drop around 20 points in total in order to have any chance of winning the title. Postponement of the fixtures will mean that Arsenal will be losing more ground on the leaders, although they will be having the fixtures at a later date.

"We are closely monitoring the situation together with all the relevant agencies including the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, London Underground, The Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Islington Council. The paramount concern to Arsenal Football Club is the duty of care we have toward the Arsenal supporters, Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters, matchday employees and indeed everyone who is planning to attend this match," said an Arsenal statement on the official site. It is expected that this match would bring in the full house of 60,000 people.
